On Saturdays at 6pm in the Back Room we will be holding a Game Night for anyone who is interested in participating, especially any senior members of the parish. There will be nibbles, tea & coffee provided. The game will be organised by teens and young adults. Last time the game was a world flag bingo…what will be the game this time? Please email email@example.com for any further enquiries or if you know other teens who would like to get involved and help in organising a lovely event aiming to bring new friends together. These events are organised by the Community of Sant’Egidio in London.
‘Connect with Christ’…our new weekly catechism and faith sharing sessions. Come along to the Parish House on Friday mornings at 10am, meet new friends and be inspired to learn about our great Catholic faith. Mothers with young children especially welcome.
The next meeting of the Parish Council is on Weds. 17 May. Please let one of us know if you have any items you would like to raise. A list of parish council members (with photographs!) can be found on the notice board.
Many congratulations to the 51 children from our parish who made their First Holy Communion this Saturday, and a big thank you to John Cassidy and his team of catechists.

Mary’s Meals have written to us as follows: A very big ‘thank you’ for allowing Mary’s Meals to again have its Rags to Riches collection at St Mary of the Angels last Sunday. I am delighted to say that the parish managed to give 730 kg of unwanted clothes; there were also cash donations of £952.58 making a total contribution of £1,317.58. This is a really good result! The amount raised will feed 95 children who will not only get fed one good, nutritious meal every school day for a whole year, but they will get an education too.

With the General Election coming up, we should be aware of a vote in Parliament on 13 March this year on a Bill introduced by Diane Johnson M.P. (Lab.) to extend the abortion time limit from the current 24 weeks to 28 weeks of gestation and to also allow sex-selective abortion. The Bill was carried by 172 votes to 146 votes and progressed to a Second Reading. The vast majority of those who voted in favour were Labour M.P.’s and among them was the M.P. for Westminster North, Karen Buck. Of course there are many factors involved in deciding who to vote for, but this pro-motion of the Culture of Death is surely one of the most serious.
